How many rooms does the villa have?

Our villa has 2 double bedrooms and a family suite in the attic with a king-size bed and twin beds. It sleeps 8 guests.

The enclosed garden lies in the middle of a vineyard with an outbuilding and shaded terrace.

Is the villa suitable for wheelchairs?

There are no specific wheelchair-friendly fixtures.

2. Rates and booking

What’s the nightly/weekly rate?

Rates are subject to season and vary from 240-400 Euros.

How do I book?

On the website, by phone or by email.

Payment in full is required when you book.

Can I cancel or amend my booking?

You can cancel for free up to the day before you arrive for a full refund.

3. Availability

Is the villa available to hire on a nightly basis or only on a weekly basis?

Minimum stay: 2 nights.
The villa is available for stays between 2 nights and 60 nights.

How do I check availability?

4. Equipment and facilities

Is the villa child-friendly?

We provide a high chair, cot, board games and outdoor toys.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs and cats are allowed. 
Fees per stay: 50€.

Do you provide any extras?

Mandatory cleaning: 150€ per stay.

5. Location and how to get here

Where is the villa?

La Maison du Clos is in Vertus, a village with a population of 2500 in central Champagne, in the Côte des Blancs 20km south of Épernay.

When you reach Vertus from Épernay, follow signs through the village to Bergères les Vertus. After the main square and roundabout, turn right after the primary school and continue to the black gate at 17 Rue de la Fosse le Loup.
Motorway

  • A4, exit junction Saint Gibrien or Reims
  • D9 from Épernay, D933 from Chalons en Champagne

Journey time:

  • 2 hr drive from Paris
  • 4 hr drive from Lyon or Strasbourg
  • 8 hr drive from Bordeaux and Marseille

Train station

Daily train services to Épernay, Reims (1/2 hr) or Paris (1.5 hr).

  • It’s a 20 minute drive from Épernay station.
  • It’s a 30 minute TGV train ride from Paris to Reims then a 45 minute drive to Vertus.

What’s nearby the villa?

  • Bakery, restaurants within 500m.
  • Champagne winery nearby.

6. House rules

What are the house rules?

Where to park

  • You can park 1 or 2 cars on the villa’s driveway in front of the house.
  • You can also park for free on the street.
  • Please ensure you don’t obstruct access to other houses on the street. If you bring your own vehicle to the villa, please take care not to damage the vines.

You can park your vehicle in front of the front door at the villa.

Keys

You will be given your keys when you check into the villa. Please inform the owners if you lose the keys.

Check-in and check-out

  • Check-in: 4pm-7pm. Please inform Delphine of your arrival time the week before your stay.
  • Check-out: 10am if you check out on a weekday or 12pm if you check out on a Sunday.

Inventory

Delphine will show you around the villa on arrival and provide you with all the information you need for your stay.

Do I need to pay a security deposit?

You must provide a cheque for 1000€ after the inventory at check-in. Your deposit will be returned in full or in part the week after the final inventory subject to any breakages (supporting invoices) or lack of maintenance as detailed in the “Maintenance” paragraph

Do I need to bring bed linen and towels?

Bed linen and towels are provided:

Please remove bed linen and leave it in the bedrooms when you check out. There’s no need to make the beds as we inspect the mattress protectors and pillows when you check out.
Please put used towels with the bed linen in each bedroom.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, we provide the code on-site.
